grad song

this madonna hit reminds me of our highschool graduation...more than brendan fraser's movie. (yeah just another highschool flashback) this was actually one of our 2 memorable 'swan songs', the other being 'in my life' by the beatles. and our whole batch sang the a capella versions on stage. my cousin's primary school, on the other hand, is having 'the gift' by jim brickman as their graduation song tomorrow. i suck at reading between the lines but i believe that there are a hundred songs better or more appropriate than that. what do you think? i kinda feel like listing the best and the worst grad songs.

omg look at kimi's energy onstage! she kinda messed up with the lyrics but who cares? she's the coolest!

'Beep beep' is my fave Juan Dela Cruz Band song (i love you Sir Pepe Smith!) and was covered by this fil-am band, Moonpools and Caterpillars, who unfortunately disbanded in 1998. Their lead vocalist, kimi ward is actually married to the guitarist Jayjay encarnacion. (hence the "asawa ko, pilipino!") i first heard the band from the soundtrack of the movie 'babysitter's club' in highschool. if you want to know more about the band, i found another video of their interview in '5 and up'. remember that kiddie show? i so loved that. i also found a 1989 video of their Roxy performance! sweeeeet! thank God for the generous people in youtube.
